Mickey R. Granger, 81, of W. Stevens Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at her home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, January 29, 2016, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2016, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mickey R. Granger was born May 30, 1934 to Leocadio and Julia (Garcia) Ramirez. She graduated from Carlsbad High School. Mickey married Michael Granger February 11, 1956 here in Carlsbad. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and flower arranging. Mickey was known for her sweet disposition and infectious smile. She loved everyone she met, but the light of her life was her children and grandkids. Mickey's happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael S. Granger; son, Michael R. Granger; brother, Leo Ramirez and sisters: Librada Acevedo and Julia Alvarado.
Survivors are her children: Grace Calderon and husband, Joe of Otis, NM, Albert Granger and wife, Kristine of San Antonio, Texas, Cynthia Granger of Carlsbad, NM, Lionel Granger and wife, Jessica of Carlsbad, NM, Barbara Granger Salmons of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Anna Carrasco and husband, Lupito, Irene King and husband, Dennis, Sarah Winters and husband, Chance, Amy Calderon Ochoa, Matthew Granger and wife, Lina, McKenzie Granger, Michael J. Granger, Jerrica Granger, Lionel Granger, Jr., Frankie Granger, Jennica Granger, Mikayla Granger Salmons and Mikenna Granger Salmons; 9 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Hannah, Gunner and Daisy Winters, Lupito and Arianna Carrasco, Elsea and Jesse Ochoa and Cole Granger-Santos; brother, Manuel Ramirez of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Elena Orona and husband, Nieves of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Calderon, Lupito Carrasco, Dennis King, Chance Winters, Lionel Granger, Jr., Frankie Granger, Michael J. Granger and Matthew Granger.
