Michael "Woody" Waldrop, 56, of Jones Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 11, 2011 at Covenent Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, August 15, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Retired Pastor Leonard Foster officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Michael "Woody" Waldrop was born December 22, 1954 in Carlsbad, NM to Delbert and Correne (Helbert) Waldrop. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1973. Michael married Barbara Parrish on May 1, 1974. He worked for Carlsbad Municipal Schools for 25 years. Michael later worked for Geo Search Logging and most recently for Trans Pecos Mud Logging. He enjoyed fishing, western books and western movies but most importantly he loved being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Joanna Waldrop.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara G. Waldrop of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Janna Waldrop Dossey and husband, Larry of Carlsbad, NM; five grandchildren: Chase Ruffer, Chance Ruffer, Michael Waldrop Kinkade Dossey and Larrynn Waldrop Dossey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Dossey, Michael Dossey, Bobby Dossey, Dale Sims, Cody Mayrhofen, and Marshall Magill.
