Michael Glen Wilcox, 43, former resident, passed away May 16, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2015, 2:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church with Kerry Spinks of Amarillo, Texas officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Michael Glen Wilcox was born October 5, 1971 in Friona, Texas to George D. and Anndrea K. (Wilkins) Wilcox. He moved to Carlsbad with his parents as a young boy and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1991. Michael went to work for Santa Fe Railroad where he worked 15 years. He was currently working as a surveyor for Enviro Ag Engineering in Amarillo, Texas. Michael was an avid sportsman. He especially loved bow hunting. He also enjoyed playing softball and was playing with OMR (One More Round). Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Amber Wilcox; maternal grandfather, Waymon Wilkins; paternal grandparents: George and Frances Wilcox. Survivors are his parents: George and Anndrea Wilcox of Chama, NM; son, Logan Wilcox of Hobbs, NM; stepdaughters: Taren Kretzer, Shanna Keown; stepson, Braden Keown; grandmother, Joyce Wilkins of Carlsbad, NM; girlfriend, Paula Hicks of Amarillo, Texas; stepgrandmother, Margie Wilkins and several aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Michael Yerby, Kris Westfall, Marty Smith, Neal Christopher, Matt Cooksey and Tyson Mahaffey. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Lowe, Shawn Amos, Matt Murray and Brian Bishoff.
