Michael "Mike" Wayne Wright

Michael Wayne Wright "Mike", 51, of Hacienda Avenue, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 21, 2011 at Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, September 25, 2011, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and will continue, Monday, September 26, 2011 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, September 26, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Oasis Christian Fellowship with Rev. Bill Campbell and Asst. Pastor Gabriel Rubio officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Michael Wayne Wright "Mike" was born January 10, 1960 in Kermit, Texas to Charles and Barbara (Dunham) Wright. He graduated Kermit High School in 1978 and went to work for Charles Wright Company from 1978 to 1994. Mike volunteered as a firefighter for Kermit Fire Department for 10 years. He was raised in the Baptist faith He moved to Carlsbad in 1996 to work for B & H Maintenance and Construction and at the time of his passing he was vice-president. Mike was past president of Riverside Country Club, an avid golfer, Dallas Cowboy football fan and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He loved riding his Harley. Mike married Laurie A. Fuentes on December 1, 2007 and together they blended their families. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and supporter of his children's activities. Mike loved his dogs Angie and Honey. He will be remembered for his wit and humor. He is survived by his wife, Laurie A. Wright of Carlsbad, NM; five children: Brandon C. Wright and wife, Tara of Carlsbad, NM, Bradley W. Wright and Kami Lowery of Cibolo, TX, Justin K. Yanez of Carlsbad, NM, LeAnn J. Neal of Carlsbad, NM, Ashlee M. Neal of Carlsbad, NM; two grandchildren: Hazen B. Wright of Carlsbad, NM and Brock R. Wright of Carlsbad, NM; parents: Charles and Barbara Wright of Coleman, TX; brother, Scott Wright and wife, Sheryl of Kermit, TX; sister, Misti Landers and husband, Kevin of Coleman, TX, best friend, Uncle Bobby Dunham and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Dale Bettis, Alan Walker, J.D. Rogers, Gary Fletcher, Billy Tharsh and Doug Chandler. Honorary pallbearers are all the friends he's left behind.
