Michael "Mike" Alan Parsons

Michael "Mike" A. Parsons, 62, of Lake Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 20, 2009 at his home. A Memorial Service is scheduled for September 24, 2009, Thursday, 10:30 AM, at 308 South Lake Street. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Michael "Mike" A. Parsons was born October 26, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to Cecil and Margaret (Lee) Parsons. He graduated from Kenmore High School, Akron Ohio in 1966. Mike served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. He went to work for AMAX where he worked 17 years. Mike then began driving a truck for I & W Trucking and more recently for Plains All American. He married Deborah August 8, 1984 here in Carlsbad. Mike enjoyed fishing, golf and traveling, but always loved to be back home. He was an avid Carlsbad kids sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Parsons of Carlsbad, two sons: Jeremy Franco of Carlsbad, NM, William "Billy" Parsons of Carlsbad, NM; grandson, Michael Parsons of Carlsbad, NM; three brothers: Cecil Parsons and wife, Sandy of Ohio, Jerry Parsons and wife, Sandy of Ohio, Bill Parsons of Carlsbad, NM; two sisters: Patricia Parsons of Ohio and Susie Spiker and husband, Danny of Ohio.
