Michael Andres Jones

Michael Andres Jones, 30, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Michael was born on July 29, 1993, in San Antonio, TX.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Chaplain Dennis Durfee officiating.

Michael Andres Jones was a Military dependent who spent his early years moving to different parts of the world. During his early teen years, he made the little league football team and became an invaluable member; he was selected as MVP and made the cover of the GRIDIRON magazine. Michael enjoyed spending time honing his skills as a skateboarder and an avid video gamer. He was fearless and attempted various skateboarding maneuvers until he mastered them. He also enjoyed going to the gym and working out consistently. After Michael completed High School, he began a career as a car service representative. Having to interact with large numbers of people, he learned early on that patience and persistence always paid off. In life, Michael was a gentle giant who cared deeply for his family. Michael was taken way too soon, but we know in our hearts he’s a guardian angel now watching over us.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Marvin and Eddie Sue Jones; and maternal grandfather.

Michael is survived by his father, Andrew Jones and wife, Johnie Koch of Schertz, TX; mother, Maria Jones of El Paso, TX; five siblings: Gabriel Orguiz; Gisela Orguiz of Kansas City, MO; Estrella Ayala and husband, Victor of El Paso, TX; Aleida Jones of Carlsbad, NM; and Amanda Jones; eleven nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; maternal grandmother, Isidra Alvarez of Denver, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
