Michael A. Castro

Michael A. Castro, 35, of W. Lea Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away September 16, 2022 at University Medical Center, El Paso, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, September 23, 2022 at Oasis Church with Pastor Josiah Ochoa officiating.  Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM.

Michael was born May 7, 1987 in Carlsbad, NM to Kiki and Michelle (Saiz) Castro.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and paintball and was an avid New England Patriots fan.  Michael’s kids were the loves of his live.  He had a beautiful smile and dimples.  Michael will be deeply missed by many people who loved him.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sammy Saiz, Sr. and uncle, Joshua Castro.

Survivors are his parents: Kiki and Michelle Castro of Loving, NM; daughter, Karlee Castro of Loving, NM; son, Michael Castro of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Ashley Castro of Carlsbad, NM; paternal grandparents, Ernesto and Lupe Castro, Sr. of Carlsbad, NM; maternal grandmother, Nati Saiz and husband, Nick of Carlsbad, NM; nephew, John Leyendecker of Carlsbad, NM and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Justin Castro, Sammy Saiz, Jr., Frankie Valdez, III, Cody Leyendecker, Ruben Sosa and Aaron Chavez.  Honorary pallbearers are Ashley Davis, Edward Mendoza and Chris Ellis.
