Memory G. Parrish, 55, of N. Mesquite Street., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 9:00 AM - 12 Noon at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 3:00 PM, at Garden Street Baptist Church with Pastor Frank Hodnett officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memory G. Parrish was born July 4, 1956 in Loving, NM to Richard L. and Glenda (Shahan) West. She attended school in Carlsbad, NM and Azle, TX Memory gave her life to the Lord in 1969 in Azle, TX and has put our Savior first throughout her life. Memory loved camping and fishing. She had a passion for horses and never turned down the opportunity to ride. Memory had the opportunity to ride in the Pony Express Reinactment between Tatum and Hobbs, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a certified equine massage therapist. Memory married Roger W. Parrish on December 7, 1983 here in Carlsbad, NM. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glenn and Ollie Shahan and J.C. and Lillie West. Survivors are her husband, Roger W. Parrish of Carlsbad, NM; four children: Kristie Hill and husband, Michael of Carlsbad, Cindy Michaels and husband, Edward of Lehigh Acres, FL, Grace Y. Geeslin of Carlsbad, Tyler Parrish of Carlsbad; parents, Richard L. and Glenda West of Carlsbad; eight grandchildren: Haley, Christian, Joshua, Samantha, Teagan, Kendel, Evan, Christopher; two brothers: Richard G. West and wife, Rachel of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Randy West and wife, Mona of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two uncles: Ennis Brooks and wife, Shirleen, Allen Shahan and wife, Phylis; mother-in-law, Barbara Laney; brother in-law, Dale Parrish and wife Tina, three sister-in-laws: Gayle Waldrop, Melissa Laney and husband, Paul, Twila Mazur and husband, Randy, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers are Ralph Jennings, Brandon Swope, Mike Garcia, Ryan Parrish, Dustin Caddell, and Ryan White.
