Melba Jean Heath, 56, of Callaway Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away May 6, 2012 at her home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Andy Harris officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Melba Jean Heath was born October 21, 1955 in Gladewater, Texas to Elvis Lee Lamb and Lillian Garcia. She graduated from high school in Pecos, Texas in 1974. Melba married Gary M. Heath on June 1, 1974 in Pecos. They moved to Carlsbad in 1989. Melba enjoyed being a Mom to her two boys. She had a passion for music, playing the guitar and singing. Melba later worked for Lakeview Christian Home where she was the assistant activities director. She loved sharing her musical talent with the Lakeview community, her church family and especially her grandchildren. Her family will deeply miss the wonderful Sunday dinners she regularly cooked for them and the time spent together. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Gary Heath of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two children: Kevin James Heath and wife, Lori, John Cole Heath and Crystal both of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Grandchildren: Bobbie Heath, Dylan Heath, Kirsten Heath, Daeson Heath and Shania Santillan Heath; one sister, Linda Arrufat of El Paso, Texas; two brothers: Johnny Lamb and wife, Trish, Larry Lamb and wife, Nedra, both of Carlsbad, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.
