Maxine Wright

Maxine Wright, 92, of E. Riverside Dr., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at Landsun Homes. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, October 7, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Pence officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Maxine Wright was born November 26, 1923 in Fleetwood, Oklahoma to R. Dean and Helen (Stowe) Kirk. She moved to Carlsbad as a young woman. Maxine married A.C. Wright in 1970. She received a nursing degree from NMSU-Carlsbad and went to work at the hospital where she worked many years. Maxine enjoyed line dancing, music, working crossword puzzles, gardening and especially loved her pets. She never turned down the opportunity to be with her family. Maxine was a long time member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by A.C. Wright in 1995. Survivors are her son, Steven Hill of Savannah, Georgia; niece, Jeryl F. Hardin and husband, Ace of Hobbs, NM, great-niece, Lisa Cline and husband, Clay of Odessa, Texas; companion, Garth Grizzle; Jason Grizzle, Bradley Grizzle, Jaxon, Conor, and William.
