Mary "Kate Warren"-Stackhouse, 94, of West Pierce St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Lakeview Christian Home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Kate was born to James and Lucy (Barton) Mahan September 23, 1918 in Oilton, Oklahoma; on her father's 60th birthday. She traveled by covered wagon in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri as a young girl. Kate graduated from high school in Seminole, Texas. She married Roy W. Warren in 1938 and moved to Carlsbad soon after. Kate worked at the old Memorial Hospital while earning her LPN degree and later worked in a doctors office. Roy died in 1985 and in 1998 she married Charles Stackhouse. Kate was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was very involved. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing "42", but most of all spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kate never turned down the opportunity to go out for ice cream. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Roy W. Warren and Charles Stackhouse; daughters, Geraldine Bain and Louise Menzdorf; sisters: Bernice Mahan and Grace Teague and brother, Bruce Mahan.
Survivors are her sons: James Warren and wife, Karen of Flagstaff, Arizona and Robert Warren and wife, Judy of Carlsbad, NM; stepson, John Stackhouse and wife, Paula of Upland, California; stepdaughter, Charrie Waters and husband, Kenneth of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren: Christopher Warren, Russell Warren, David Warren, Jodie Sparks, Keli Warren, Keri Blair, Donn Warren, Roy Bain, Joe Bain, Marjorie Hernandez, Crystal Parks, Robby Waters and Stevie Stackhouse; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
