Mary D. Saldana

Mary D. Saldana, 76, of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. Mary was born on February 11, 1946, in Carlsbad, NM to Tomas and Eloise Saldana, Sr.

There will be no visitation, and cremation has taken place. The family is having a graveside service at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Carlsbads Cemetery with Pastor Albert Alvarez officiating.

Mary was a kind and loving person who always took care of other’s needs before her own. She had a joyous personality that would bring a smile to your face the moment you saw her. She was a member of Oasis Church, and would spend many hours throughout her week reading her bible and praying. Mary always enjoyed a good cup of coffee, and telling jokes to others just to add laughter in the room. Here family was her world, and she will be deeply missed by them.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Saldana; mother, Eloise D. Saldana; and two brothers: Tomas Saldana, Jr. and Ben Chavez.

Mary is survived by her five children: Jerry Saldana of Carlsbad, NM; Daniel Saldana of Carlsbad, NM; Louie Quintela of Carlsbad, NM; Elva Marquez and husband, Leon of Carlsbad, NM; and Unique Quintela of Carlsbad, NM; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; and nine siblings: Adela Martinez, Linda Mata, Mary Ann Chavez, Irma Chavez, Siria Chavez, Alice Estrada and husband Rodolfo.
