Jazell was born on May 3, 1959, in Carlsbad, NM to David and Carmen (Lara) Montoya. She was raised and educated in Carlsbad, graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1977. Jazell worked for Carlsbad Medical Center, Home Care, and served as Director of Religious Education at St. Edward Catholic Church. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1997, where she made her home. It was then that she began her career doing what she loved most, caring for children. Jazell worked as a professional nanny for the Norman family, raising her beloved Ben and Katie. She then worked for the Brant family, caring for Kiana, Tierra and Riley. And, most recently, Jazell worked for Anna Valdez caring for Haylie, who held a special place in her heart. Her sons, Fernando and Adrian, were her pride and joy. It was not unusual for Jazell to be surrounded by her nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly and who in return cherished their Auntie Jazell. Her hobbies included interior decorating, crafting, going to yard sales, antique shops, the casino, listening to Vicente Fernandez and scrapbooking. Jazell also enjoyed visiting and spending time with her dear friends and family. She was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church, where she spent much time before the Blessed Sacrament. Jazell was a very loving and caring person with a heart of gold. She loved bringing joy to others. Her door was always open to anyone in need, no matter the circumstance. Jazell was an angel on earth and is now our angel in heaven. We love you and miss you terribly, Jizzy. You will always be in our hearts, until we meet again. Survivors are her sons: Felipe Fernando Carnero and Adrian Carnero, both of Phoenix, Arizona; parents, David and Carmen Montoya of Carlsbad, NM; siblings: Michael Montoya of Phoenix, Arizona, Carla Duarte and husband, Tommy of Malaga, NM, Lisa Calderon and husband, Eppie of Hobbs, NM, David Anthony Montoya of Phoenix, Arizona and Leticia Da Silva and husband, Brandon of Casa Grande, Arizona; nieces and nephews: Michael Ray, Jordan, Cristina, Andres, Rachel, Elena, Stephen, Iliana, Brandon and Isabella; 7 great nieces and nephews.
