Mary Jayne Long

Mary Jayne Long passed away peacefully in Artesia, NM with family by her on February 1, 2024.

Jayne was born to Alva Arthur White and Zella Kathrine Cassady White in Yale, Oklahoma on November 1, 1944. The youngest of 4 children, she was raised in Alamogordo, NM.  Jayne married Charles W. Long Jr. on May 18, 1971. She loved animals, especially horses and cats. Jayne had a deep love for reading, and learning crafts. She loved working with leather, seed beads, polymer clay, and crocheting. She enjoyed riding horses and was part of a trail riding club in De Ridder, LA. Where her and Charles lived for over 35 years after he retired from the army. Jayne worked and retired from Bosie Cascade.

Jayne was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Frank Patrick White, her sister, Jeri Diane Follis, and 2 granddaughters, Sabra and Jodie Croom.

She is survived by her brother Michael, her son, John, and her daughter Terri. Grand children: Bret, Darren (Kylee), Christina, and Jessica (Brandon). Great Grandchildren: Keeley, Bowen, Dom, Jason, Sierra, Jocelyn, Casey, Michelle, Reid and Alphonse. 

A memorial service will be held at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia, NM at 10 A.M. on February 12, 2024.
