Mary Dominguez

Mary Dominguez, age 76, gained her angel wings Saturday, February 3, 2024. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by the love of her life, Robert Dominguez; mother-in-law,  Isabel Dominguez; children: Bobby Dominguez (Delia Briones), Melissa Logan and Michelle Sapien (Eddie); grandchildren: Marcelina Sapien, Andrez Sapien (Angelica Villegas) and Marina Logan; great-grandchildren: Jeremiah Martinez, Jr, Elijah Martinez and Ariella Sapien; sisters: Lilia Bell, Rosa Fierro and Corina Linhart (Steve) and brother, Roman Martinez, Jr.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Roman Martinez, Sr. and mother, Marcelina M. Soto; brothers, Cristin (Tino) Martínez, Angel (Bejo) Martinez and Lorenzo (Lencho) Martinez and sister, Rafaela (Laila) Anaya.

Mary was born on September 2, 1947 and raised in Carlsbad, NM. Mary and Robert married and moved a few times, finally settling in Ruidoso, NM. She eventually followed her kids and grandkids back to Carlsbad where she resided. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and GiGi. She enjoyed being surrounded by family, no matter the occasion. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking with and for her family, whether it was for a family dinner, special occasion or just a backyard cookout. Mary enjoyed a few careers during her lifetime as seamstress, dietary manager and beauty advisor, but her favorite was being a Gigi.

Mary’s family asks that she be remembered by the joy she brought others in life and not by the sadness of her passing.

There will be a public viewing Tuesday February 6, 2024 from 4 PM – 6 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home followed by a rosary at 6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 AM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.  Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family invites you to enjoy a meal afterwards at San Jose Hall.

Pallbearers will be Andrez Sapien, Eddie Sapien, Jr., Donald Martinez, Sonny Martinez, Dominic Dominguez, Henry Anaya, Jr., Jeremiah Martinez, Jr., and Seth Martinez.   Honorary pallbearers are Elijah Martinez and Ariella Sapien.
