Mary L. Brooks

Mary L. Brooks, 90, former resident of Carlsbad, NM passed away in Clovis, NM on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Mary was born on March 31, 1934, in Wichita Falls, TX to William and Eva Entrekin. 

There will be no visitation, and a graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Doug Brooks officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 After finishing high school, Mary and William Brooks got married on July 14, 1953, in Wichita Falls, TX. They then moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1965 and continued raising their family of four children. Mary worked as a bookkeeper over the years, and she was a lifelong member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

 Mary was preceded in death by her father, William Entrekin; mother, Eva (Wilson) Entrekin; husband, William L. Brooks; and sister, Peggy Pitts. 

Mary is survived by her four children: Mark Brooks and wife, Sharene of Roswell, NM; Doug Brooks and wife, Latriece of Lubbock, TX; Rick Brooks and wife, Kathleen of Carlsbad, NM; and Brenda Fry and husband, Richard of Rio Rancho, NM; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three siblings all from Oklahoma: Jimmy Entrekin, Jerry Entrekin, and Doris Culver; and several nieces and nephews.
