Mary Miranda Brito

Mary Miranda Brito, 94 of Del Rio St, Carlsbad NM was greeted in Heaven by her daughter, Carmen Anaya on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Paster Mike Adams officiating.

Mary was born February 12, 1928, in Roswell, NM to Andres and Isacia (Otero) Miller. She married Ralph Miranda on June 4, 1945. Mary and Ralph moved to Carlsbad in 1947, where they built their family home, raised their children, and helped raise their grandchildren. Mary married her late-in-life companion Jose Brito in 2000.

Mary is survived by her daughter Mary Jane Salas, of Roswell, NM, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  

Mary was loved and cared for by her grandson Salvador Anaya Jr. and wife, Gina, great-grandson Gavyn Anaya and partner Alia Gonzalez, and great-grand daughter Gaje Anaya. Mary had a very special bond with Gaje and cherished the time she spent with her. She was determined to live long enough to see Gaje graduate high school, which she was able to do shortly before her passing.

Mary enjoyed going to parties and visiting with family and friends. She loved attending church and playing her tambourine. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord and was ready to join her savior, family, and friends for eternity.
