Martina H. Valdez

Martina H. Valdez, 74, of Carlsbad, NM passed away Saturday August 17, 2024 with her loving family surrounding her.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM. A Graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Santa Catarina Cemetery with Deacon Mel Balderrama. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born October 24, to Julia Romero and Gregorio Hernandez. She attended the Loving School. She was the best mother, spending time with her family, camping and other outdoor activities. She loved working on her yard. She had a reputation of helping others in times of need.

Martina is survived by husband, Victor Valdez Sr.; children Vicente Valdez, Victor H. Valdez Jr., Daniel Valdez, four Grandchildren. Alvaro Hernandez and wife Velma, Poli Hernandez, Domatelia Montez and husband Jose, Pearl Hernandez, Jane Hernandez, Belia Mendoza and Jack, Yolanda Graves and Husband Robert, Valerie Marquez.

Martina proceeded in death by sisters Librada Hernandez, Maria Garcia, Maggie Alonzo, Sofia Carrasco, Elena Hernandez, brothers Felix Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Augustine Hernandez.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hernandez, Alvaro Jr. Hernandez, Patrick Hernandez, Nathan Gellis, Ruben Castro, Jr. Victor Lee Valdez, III.
