Martina Lujan Molinar

Martina Lujan Molinar, 74 of Montana Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning July 21, 2023.  A Catholic rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel led by the Knights of Columbus of San Jose Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 11:oo AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Martina will be laid to rest at the Carlsbad Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Martina Lujan Molinar was born October 24, 1948 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Cecilio H. And Paula (Barraza) Lujan.  She was raised in Malaga, New Mexico and graduated from Carlsbad High School. Martina married the love of her life, Ysidro C. Molinar on February 28, 1970 in Carlsbad, NM.  She was employed by Lakeview Christian Home working in the kitchen. She also enjoyed working at Golden Services as a CNA.  Martina found her passion taking care of children through the CYFD program. She continued watching children in the family and friends of family. The last baby she cared for, her great niece Genessa Hernandez, was a source of great pride and love in her life. Martina enjoyed many activities, especially those that allowed her to express her love, creativity, and strength in her faith.  A few of her favorite things were walking with her husband, cooking for her loved ones, and playing cards with her Compadres. She had a strong faith in God as her time grew closer to meet him so did her faith and love for her Father.  She was devoted to praying her rosary daily together with her loving husband Ysidro. 

Martina was preceded in death by her father, Cecilio Lujan; mother, Paula (Barraza) Lujan; and six siblings: Adan Lujan, Fernando Lujan, Leonardo Lujan, Estanislada Hernandez, Antonio Lujan, and Gloria Hernandez.

Martina is survived by her husband, Ysidro C. Molinar of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Melissa Lujan Molinar of Carlsbad, NM; and Michele Molinar Samuels and husband, James of San Angelo, TX; one granddaughter, Monique Marie Martinez of Carlsbad, NM; three siblings: Epifania L. Tercero of Goshen, California; Cecilio B. Lujan and wife, Belen of Carlsbad, NM; and Robert B. Lujan of Goshen, California; brother-in-law, Victor Hernandez; sister-in-law, Katie Lujan and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Honorary Pallbearers are the Knights of Columbus.
