Martha Lujan Elizondo, 56, of Carlsbad, NM passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at her home.

Cremation has taken place, and a visitation is scheduled from 5 PM to 6:30 PM, Friday, August 20, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a vigil at 6:30 PM. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Martha was born September 28, 1964, in Carlsbad, NM to Martin and Maria Elizondo. Martha grew up in LA, and first met her husband, Wayne, when she ran over his toe with her bike at the age of eight. They then met again when she was twelve when her baseball team played against the team Wayne was helping coach. She then finished high school in Wilmington, CA. Martha was a hard worker, and always did what she could to help her friends and family. She had the biggest heart, and always made sure everyone felt loved. She moved to Carlsbad a few years ago to help care for her brother. While here, she started working at Albertsons, where she made so many wonderful friends, who brightened her day. Martha had two best friends in California, Yolonda and Gloria, and then her best friend Gina in Carlsbad, which meant so much to her. She will be missed by so many, and never forgotten.

Martha was preceded in death by her father, Martin Elizondo; mother, Maria Elizondo; and brother, Martin Elizondo.

Martha is survived by her husband, Wayne Contreras of Alhambra, CA; sister, Mary Ann Elizondo of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Margie Elizondo of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Susanna Elizondo of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Marina Elizondo of Las Vegas, NM; brother, Mark Elizondo of Carlsbad, NM; cousin, Eddie Elizondo and wife, Gina of Carlsbad, NM; aunt, Lilia Lujan of Carlsbad and numerous more cousins, uncles, and aunts.
