Marta Minjares Rico

Marta Minjares Rico, 48, of S. 3rd Street, Loving, New Mexico, passed away April 21, 2014. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2014, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2014, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Marta Minjares Rico was born September 15, 1965 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Efren and Carmen (Moreno) Minjares. She married Hector Ramon Rico in 1979. Marta loved spending time with her family and enjoyed keeping her grandchildren She was always there to help her family and friends and she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Cadence Marie Lopez; brother, Raul Minjares and a sister. Survivors are her husband, Ramon Rico of Loving, NM; daughters: Yolanda Rico of Loving, NM, Erika Lopez and husband, Mark of Carlsbad, NM, Lily Rico of Loving, NM; grandson, Devin Lane Lopez; grandaughters: Arianna Franco, Aliyah Franco; sisters: Carmen Vasquez, Elvira Rico, Josie Perez, Esparanza Rico, Hilda Hernandez, Estella Venegas, Patricia Hernandez, Gloria Minjares; brothers: Johnny Minjares, Efren Minjares, Jr., Jaime Minjares and numerous nieces and nephews and her dog, Woofie. Pallbearers will be Eduardo Rico, Jr., Javier Rico, Christian Rico, Tim Franco, Vicente Perez, III and Carlos Rico. Honorary pallbeaerers will be Gloria Minjares, Armando Hagnes and Francisco Hernandez, Jr. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
