Marjorie Flora Simmons Foss

Marjorie Flora Simmons Foss, 95, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away June 6, 2010 at Landsun Manor. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, June 1, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Landsun Otto Chapel with Dr. Larry Krueger officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Marjorie Flora Simmons Foss was born November 16, 1914 in Edison, Nebraska to Levert B. and Flora (Hoag) Simmons. She received her education in Beaver City, Nebraska and Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska. Marjorie taught in rural schools for three years. Marjorie married Harry C. Foss on April 18, 1936. Harry and Marjorie lived in New Mexico since 1950. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Beaver City, Nebraska and was affiliated with The Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad, New Mexico since 1999. Marjorie was a member of Eastern Star, Olivet Chapter No. 29, Bristol Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Foss, her parents, four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include 14 nieces and nephews and many close friends and caregivers. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
