Marjorie "Margie" Tippings

Marjorie "Margie" Tippings, 73, of Mesilla Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away with her children by her side on Monday, May 9, 2011. Margie ordered her family to not have any services, with her promising to haunt them if not adheared to. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Marjorie "Margie" Tippings was born August 20, 1937 in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, California. Margie relocated to Carlsbad in 1976. She worked for Patman's IGA for 9 years before retiring. Margie enjoyed the simple things, time spent with her children she called FB's, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As she got older, her heart belonged with our soldiers and the American patriotism. We appreciate the values of hard work she instilled in us. Margie wanted to be remembered as a "tough old bird." Her only unrealized dream was skating for the roller derby. In her later years she enjoyed watching Regis and Kelly and NCIS with her constant companion, Scooter Bob. The family would like to thank Home Care Connection and Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Margie. "Yes mom, we will make sure the screen door is shut tight." She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Litzell; husband, Jack Tippings; son-in-law, Ronald Lewis, Sr. Survivors include her children: Melody McClintock and husband, Arthur of Carlsbad, NM; Scott Tippings and wife, JoAnn of Carlsbad, NM; Marc Tippings and wife, Melissa of Carlsbad, NM; Dawn Lewis and Joel Howard of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Mara Lester and husband, Jesse James, Trey McClintock, Mariah McClintock, Patrick Tippings, Alexandria, Brittany, Tyler Tippings, Bryon, Chris, Gabriella Trujillo, Tai Lewis, Ronald Lewis, Jr., Kacie Kyle and Jacob Howard and five great-grandchildren.
