Marie Renee McKay

Marie Renee McKay, 60, of N. Ash St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at her home. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Denton Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Jan Walterscheid officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Marie Renee McKay was born May 14, 1955 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to John Henry and Mildred (Hansen) Schaunaman. She attended school in Aberdeen and later moved to Carlsbad in 1982. Marie went to work at Carlsbad Medical Center where she worked 26 years and finished her career as an anesthesia tech. Having been raised on a farm in South Dakota, Marie naturally had a love for animals and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael McKay and sister, Gloria Wangler. Survivors are her husband, Michael A. Ramirez of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Mallisa Heyd of Aberdeen, South Dakota; grandchildren: Alex and Jessica Heyd; brother, Jack Schaunaman; sisters: Patricia Johansenn, Vickie Marsalek, Marion Goodmanson; numerous nieces and nephews Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
