Maria L. Ramos

Maria L. Ramos, 77, of 6th St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Maria L. Ramos was born February 11, 1936 in Fowlerton, TX to Emeterio and Manuela (Alanis) Guzman. She was a loving mother and grandmother and always enjoyed being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Manuela and Emeterio Gusman; father of her children: Timoteo De La Paz; daughter, Lupita De La Paz; two brothers: Simon and Emetero Gusman and husband, Manuel Calanche. Survivors are her daughters: Gloria Tanguma and husband, Marin of Alice, TX, Maria Fuentes and husband, Frank of Carlsbad, NM, Sylvia Betterton and husband, Arthur of Midland, TX, Noelia De La Paz of San Antonio, TX, Elva Amesquita and husband, Ricardo of Midland, TX; sons: Timoteo De La Paz and wife, Roleen of Carlsbad, NM, Ricky De La Paz and wife, Frances of Freona, TX; 27 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; Siblings: Alvina Gonzalez of Wisconsin, Alvino Salceda of Wisconsin, Juanita Webb of Illinois and Moises Gusman of Minnesota. Pallbearers are Ismael Amesquita, Robert Tanguma, Ricky De La Paz, Timmy De La Paz, Noe Flores and Alfredo Sotelo. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
