Maria Jesus M. "Chuy" Rubio, 82, of West Alvarado Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Home.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2015, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2015, 1:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Maria Jesus M. "Chuy" Rubio was born September 21, 1932 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Conrado and Dominga (Aguilar) Molinar. She married Manuel Rubio in 1952 in Carlsbad, NM. Mama Chuy was an accomplished professional seamstress who loved to sew. She liked to dance and show kids how to dance the Flamenco. She was featured in the movie "The Honkers" in 1972. Mama Chuy was known as a sweet precious lady. She loved to sing and rock her great-grandkids to sleep. Mama Chuy always told it like it was and always welcomed anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominga Aguilar Molinar and Conrado Molinar, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors are her husband, Manuel V. Rubio, Sr. of Carlsbad, NM; son, Manuel Rubio, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; daughters: Ycela R. Sosa and husband, Estanislado F. of Carlsbad, NM, Belinda M. Rubio of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Chris Rubio of Albuquerque, NM, Sonya Sosa of Albuqueruqe, NM, Jessica Rubio of Albuquerque, NM, Jeanette Rubio and fiance, Victor Valles of Albuquerque, NM, Sophia Sosa and fiance, John Vasquez, Bianca Sosa and husband, Jimmy John Rodriguez, Nakita Sosa and fiance, Carlos Martinez, Yulita Meledrez and fiance, Jaime Bustamante of Carlsbad, NM, Gabriel Rubio and wife, Elizabeth, Brianna Delgado; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers: Toribio Molinar of Brownsfield, TX, Guadalupe Molinar of El Paso, TX; sisters: Bahola Solorzano of El Paso, TX, Maria Valenzuela, Paula Sotelo and Sofia Payan all of Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico and her extended family includes countless nieces, nephews and caring friends.
Pallbearers are Victor Valles, Jimmy J. Rodriguez, Carlos Martinez, Chris Rubio, Gabriel Rubio and John Vasquez.
