Maria "Licha" Vasquez De Bejarano

Maria “Licha” Vasquez De Bejarano, 80, of Midland, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. Maria was born on June 7, 1940, in Ojinaga, Mexico to Sebastian and Maria Vasquez.

Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Restrictions are limited to 5 people at a time and masks are required. Later, the family will have private services at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will take place at Loving Cemetery in Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Maria grew up in Mexico and married the love of her life, Ramon Bejarano, on May 1, 1965, in Ojinaga, Mexico. They began their beautiful family with their two children. They raised their children in Coahoma, TX where they called home from 1970 to 1988, then moved to Midland, TX for about 10 years. They moved to Ft. Davis before moving to Carlsbad, NM in 2002. Maria was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, with such a big heart, she loved spending time with her great grandchildren and watching them play and dance for her. Maria enjoyed cooking delicious meals, loved farm animals, especially her chickens and her cat Angel. She also loved gardening, taking care of her plants and rose bushes. Maria was a member of San Jose Catholic Church, and loved going to Mass on Sundays and visiting with friends and family afterwards. Maria will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Maria was preceded in death by her father, Sebastian Vasquez; mother, Maria Vasquez; daughter, Lilia Patricia Bejarano; three sisters; and three brothers.

Maria is survived by her husband, Ramon Bejarano of Midland, TX; son, Martin Bejarano and wife, Rebeca of Midland, TX; grandson, Patrick Barber of Carlsbad, NM; grandson, Aldofo Bejarano and wife, Carrie of Midland, TX; grandson, Eric Bejarano and wife, Adriana of El Paso, TX; grandson, Martin R. Bejarano of Midland, TX; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jose Vasquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
