Margo Wood

Margo Wood, 78, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Margo was born on April 5, 1944, in Leavenworth, KS to Robert Tipton and Marguerite (Percy) Tipton.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. Interment will be at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad New Mexico.

Margo was a loving and giving person, who always knew how to take care of others. She married the love of her life, Charles Wood, on August 5, 1966. She never knew a stranger, and she would instantly make friends as soon as she walked into a room. Her biggest hobby was line dancing, and she absolutely loved to get out on the dance floor with her fellow Carlsbad Country Gold Dancers. It brought her so much joy to dance with them. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Margo was preceded in death by her father, Robert Tipton; mother, Marguerite (Percy) Tipton; son, Robert Wood; brother, Bob Tipton; and niece, Elizabeth Tipton.

Margo is survived by her husband, Charles Wood of Carlsbad, NM; son, Douglas Wood and fiancé, Kelsey Colliander of Georgetown, TX; grandson, Simon Wood of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Vicki Tipton; three nephews: Adam Tipton and wife Melanie, Stephen Tipton and wife Christie, and Joseph Tipton and wife Michelle; and one niece, Amy Tipton.
