Margarita Gomez Franco

Margarita Gomez Franco, 89, passed away Monday October 23, 2023 at home, surrounded by her loving family. There will be no visitation. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at St. Edward Catholic Church Followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, NM. Denton- Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. After services there will be a meal served for family members at St. John Paul II Parish Center adjacent to St. Edward Catholic Church.
Margarita Gomez Franco was born Wednesday, December 6, 1933, in Carlsbad, NM to Juan S. Gomez Sr. and Rafaela Florez Gomez. She was raised and educated in Carlsbad.
Mrs. Franco was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. She enjoyed her novenas, praying her rosary, reading the newspaper, Word Find Puzzles, coloring and every Sunday, making delicious meals and homemade desserts for the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother; three sons and one daughter.
Survivors include sons, Samuel G. Franco (wife) Cecilia, David Gomez of Carlsbad; and Jimmy Gomez of Santa Maria, California; Daughters, Celia Methola (Husband) Rick of Carlsbad, Cecilia Mendoza (Husband) Manuel of Malaga, Lorina DeLaCruz of Bakersfield, California, Nancy Gomez (Husband) Lynn Foley of Carlsbad, and 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers; are Robert Methola of Santa Rosa, NM, Eugene Methola of Odessa, TX, Manuel Mendoza, Gabriel Mendoza, Angel (Jaime) Armendariz of El Paso, TX, Frankie Methola of Carlsbad, Israel DeLaCruz of Houston.TX and Greg Gomez of California.
