Margaret E. Lyle

Margaret E. Lyle, 92, of West Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, February 27, 2012, 2:30 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Gary Standard officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Margaret E. Lyle was born on October 7, 1919, in Farmington, NM, to Revis and Ellen (Jones) Hooten. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. Margie owned and operated Whitlock and Lyle Real Estate Co. for 25 years in Ruidoso, NM. She moved to Carlsbad several years ago to be closer to her children. Margie was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don Lyle and brothers, Ross Hooten and Ralph Hooten. Survivors are her children: Anita Bedingfield of Carlsbad, NM, Wayne Whitlock and wife, Jeanne of Carlsbad, NM, Della Calentine of Las Vegas, NM; six grandchildren: Cindy Bedingfield, Curt Bedingfield, Della Garlitz, John Whitlock, Wade Whitlock, Micah Whitlock; 17 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mabel Hooten of Mayhill, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
