Manuel S. "Tata" Vasquez, 75, of Ash Road, Loving, New Mexico, passed away July 9, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Monday, July 12, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Monday, July 12, 2010, 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, NM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, NM, with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Manuel S. "Tata" Vasquez was born December 18, 1934 in Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico to Geronimo Garcia and Juliana Hernandez (Salcido) Vasquez. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and listening to music, but most of all he loved being with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Catalina Vasquez of Loving, NM; six children: Jose Alfred Vasquez of Andrews, TX, Araceli Rodriguez and Manuel Fuentes of Loving, NM, Manuel Quiros and wife, Raquel of Carlsbad, NM, Angelica Vasquez and Juan Lopez of Loving, NM, Romelia Landaverde of Loving, NM, Andres Vasquez and fianc, Vanessa Downey of Carlsbad, NM; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five siblings: Carmen Vasquez, Sr., Juan Vasquez, Alicia Franco, Guillerma Hinojos, and Jesus "Chuy" Vasquez all of Loving, NM. Pallbearers will be Andres Vasquez, Manuel Quiros, Jessi Rodriguez, Armando Rodriguez, Serjio Quiros and Juan Lopez. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
