Manuel R. Espinoza

Manuel R. Espinoza, Sr., 72, of South Mesquite Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2013, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manuel Espinoza, Jr., son, officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Manuel R. Espinoza, Sr. was born September 21, 1940 in Edna, Texas to Carlos and Dionicia (Rodriguez) Espinoza, Sr. Manuel grew up in Seagraves, TX. On November 10, 1961 he married Yolanda Mayorga. They moved to Carlsbad in 1974. Manuel worked in the oilfield for 27 years. For 20 of those years he owned and operated Espinoza Roustabout Service, Inc. Manuel enjoyed baseball and loved to fish. Education was important to him and he made sure that his children and grandchildren understood the importance of an education. Manuel's biggest and greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and four sisters. Survivors are his wife, Yolanda Espinoza of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Idolina Buendia and husband, Miguel of Carlsbad, NM; two sons: Manuel Espinoza, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Lleveland, TX, Angel Espinoza, Sr., and wife, Paula of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren: Miguel Buendia, Jr., Vanessa Maria Buendia, Andrea Victoria Collins and husband, Mathew, Katrina Marie Buendia, Ilyana Elizabeth Espinoza, Manuel Estevan Espinoza, III, Angel Zachary Espinoza, Jr., Cydney Abigail Espinoza, Nathaniel Adan Espinoza; great-grandchildren: Miguel Kaikoa Buendia, Kailei Lanai Buendia, Trinity Faith Collins, Jaiden Buendia Huereque, Isabella Hope Collins and sister, Maria Magdelana Gomez and husband, Amador of Seagraves, TX. Pallbearers will be David Espinoza, Brian Espinoza, Nick Espinoza, Vidal Espinoza, Jr., Adam Espinoza, Mathew Collins, Michael Harper, Jerry Harper, Jr..
