Obituary
Manuel Memo Rubio, Jr., 64, of West Alvarado Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. Manuel was born on April 30, 1956, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Manuel Rubio, Sr. and Maria Rubio.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2020, 4PM 7 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel: only 30 people are allowed in the chapel at a time with masks. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 AM Friday, July 17, 2020, at Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Manuel was known to all who met him, to be a person of kindness and love. He never hesitated to help those in need around him, and did everything with the biggest smile. Manuels love for his family was evident in the countless moments he shared with them, loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was known to always have a good time, and had two amazing mans best friends: Casper and King. Manuel also enjoyed music, dancing, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, collecting and admiring classic cars - like his former Ford Thunderbird - and boxing. Manuel will be missed dearly and never forgotten.
Manuel was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Vigil Rubio, Sr.; mother, Maria Mary Jesus M. Rubio; paternal grandparents: Pablo and Eliana Rubio; and maternal grandparents: Cornado and Domingo Molinar.
Manuel is survived by his son, Chris Rubio of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Jeanette Valles and husband, Victor of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Jessica Rubio of Albuquerque, NM; son, Gabe Rubio and wife, Elizabeth of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Brianna Delgado of Carlsbad, NM; seven grandchildren: Alyssa Rubio, Imari Rubio, Iyan Valles, Jayden Mackey, Arabella Rubio, Juliana Rubio, and Elijah Rubio; sister, Ycela R. Sosa and husband, Estanislado F. of Carlsbad, NM; Belinda M. Rubio of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
