Manuel Granado Lara, 72, of Loving, NM, entered into eternal life on Wednesday December 21, 2022. He was born in Loving, NM to Dolores (Granado) and Federico Lara on August 13, 1949.
Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday December 28, 2022, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving, NM, followed by a Rosary and Vigil scheduled for 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Connell officiating. Interment will follow at the Loving Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Manuel was the oldest of 14 siblings. He was a family man and loved spending time with everyone in his garage with the music playing loud. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed watching a game. Manuel loved to dance and loved music.
Manuel worked at the potash mines over 20 years and for the last 10 years loved working at Allsup’s. He also worked roofing, truck driving and always had to stay busy, as he was a hard-working laborer. Manuel married his beautiful wife, Amelia (Gonzales) Lara in 1967 and right away they started their own family. They were blessed with 7 children although Manuel always said he wanted more.
Manuel was preceded in death by his father, Federico Lara; mother, Delores (Granado) Lara; wife, Amelia Gonzalez Lara; grandchild, Christian Lara; and five siblings: Rita Lara, Amelia Lara, Guadalupe Lara, Antonio Lara, and Mauro Lara.
Manuel is survived by his seven children: Manuel G. Lara, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; Raynaldo Lara and wife, Kristina of Carlsbad, NM; Lorraine Garcia and husband, Alan of Albuquerque, NM; Antonio Able Lara of Carlsbad, NM; Loralinda Lara of Albuquerque, NM; Adam Lara and Bridget Reyes of Loving, NM; and Alexis Lara and Arturo Simmons of Rio Rancho, NM; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; eight siblings: Frances Hernandez of Loving, NM; Andrea Parraz and husband, Alfredo of Loving, NM; Fredrico Lara and wife, Elena of Loving, NM; Rosario Lara of Loving, NM; Margarito Lara and wife, Patsy of Buckeye, AZ; Epilito Lara of Loving, NM; Mary Lara of Loving, NM; and Raquel Lara of Loving, NM; three siblings-in-law: Virginia Lara, Maria Lara, and Cornelio Ferretaz; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be: Arturo Simmons, Andrew Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, Jorge Guzman, Alfredo Parraz, Jr., Ayden Leyva, Kaleb Rodriguez, and Alfredo Parraz, III. Honorary pallbearers will be: Alexender Ray Lara, Jaime Rios, and Cornelio Ferretaz.
