Manuel B. Lopez, Sr., 75, of N. Ninth Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away June 24, 2010 at his home.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place.
A Vigil is scheduled for Sunday, June 27, 2010, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, June 28, 2010, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM. Conv. officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Manuel B. Lopez, Sr., was born June 9, 1935 to Daniel and Merced (Baldiviez) Lopez in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Manuel worked in the Potash Mines for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Manuel loved his family very much and never turned down the opportunity to be with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stevie Lopez; brothers: Ascencion Lopez, Marcelino Lopez, Victor Lopez, Jose Lopez and sister Juana Lopez.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth "Licha" Lopez of Carlsbad, NM; five children: Freddy Lopez of Hobbs, NM; Lillian Ramirez and husband, Larry of Loveland, CO, Manuel "Manny" Lopez, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Carlsbad, NM, Jesse Lopez of Hobbs, NM and Bentura "Benny" Lopez of Carlsbad, NM; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Daniel B. Lopez, Jr., of Carlsbad, NM, John B. Lopez of Carlsbad, NM; five sisters: Lala L. Rivas of Carlsbad, NM, Golla L. Fierro of Carlsbad, NM, Maria L. Galvan of CA, Helen L. Garcia and husband, Virgil of CA, Elia L. Cordova and husband, Stanley of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
