Lynn Terpening

Lynn Terpening, 58, of Old Cavern Highway, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away December 10, 2013 at Artesia Hospital in Artesia, NM. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Tillery officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lynn Terpening was born July 13, 1955 in Artesia, New Mexico to Lyle and Mary Evelyn (Price) Terpening. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1973. In 1977 he received his Bachelor's Degree from New Mexico State University and in 1978 he received his Master's Degree. On December 4, 1981 he married Jan Harmon in Artesia. Lynn worked at WIPP for 30 years in the maintenance area. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Artesia. Lynn has been in Ag activities his entire life. He loved his family dearly. Lynn was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Survivors are his wife, Jan Terpening of Carlsbad, NM; parents, Lyle and Mary Evelyn Terpening of Artesia, NM; sons: Cody Terpening and wife, Laurie of Hobbs, NM, Shawn Judah and wife, Terri of Carlsbad, NM; two granddaughters: Shawni Judah, Tori Judah both of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Henry Terpening of Artesia, NM and Roy Terpening of Artesia, NM. Pallbearers are Cody Terpening, Shawn Judah, Chris Prater, Mark Davis, Randy Isler and Jason Alexander.
