Obituary Luz Baiza,70, of Salazar Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be6:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2018at San Jose Catholic Church. Vigil will beat 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for10: 00 AM, Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Luz Baiza was born September 2, 1947 in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Eusebio and Alicia (Chavez) Martinez. She came to Carlsbad upon marrying her husband and began her family. Luz worked at La Tienda tortilla factory and at San Jose Church as a daycare provider. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking and baking for them. Two of her favorite pass times were singing and dancing which she was great at. Luz is survived by her husband, Fulgencio Baiza of Carlsbad, NM and son, Fulgencio Xavier Baiza of Carlsbad, NM.
