Luella J. Polowy, 86, of Iona Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at her home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Huston officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Luella J. Polowy was born February 15, 1929 in Buffalo, New York to Thomas Joseph and Irene Rita (Neth) McHenry. She married Joseph Polowy on February 5, 1949 in Buffalo, New York. Luella enjoyed crocheting afghans and hand crafted many afghans for residents at Landsun. She also volunteered many hours at the Living Desert Zoo. Singing in the church choir throughout her life was something else Luella dearly enjoyed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Polowy; sisters: Helen Miller, Jenny Shaw, Irene Turner and brother, Thomas Joseph McHenry, Jr.
Survivors are her sons: Edward Joseph Polowy of Carlsbad, NM, David Polowy of Buffalo, NY; granddaughter, Kelsey Ann Polowy; brother, James A. McHenry; sister, Doris Bowen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Louie Matta, Larry Henderson, Lynn Tusha, Richard Farrell, Clayton Bost and Dick Isaboke.
