Ludalph Edward Harris

Ludalph Edward Harris, 89, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at his home. Ludalph "Lou" was born on November 21, 1935, in Chicago, IL to Theodore and Irene Harris.

Originally from Chicago, Lou married Josephine A. Dinolfo in 1957. They had 5 children. 

Later in life, Ludalph "Lou" married LaVerne Haynes, on August 12, 1980, in Chicago, IL. Lou worked for 30 years at American Machine and Science before retiring as Corporate Vice President. They moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1992. He worked as General Food and Beverage Manager of Whites City, NM, as well as General Manager for Chapman's Steakhouse in Carlsbad, NM before retiring for good. Lou lived a quiet fulfilling, life. He loved all animals, especially his pets - most recently rescuing Rasputin and Einstein. He welcomed all who came to vist - family, friends and strangers alike. He was willing to lend an "ear" and help in any way he could. He especially enjoyed cooking, baking, working on projects in and around his home. He spent each moment he could with his family, creating memories. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Lou was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Roy Harris; mother, Irene Julia (Lewen) Harris; wife, LaVerne Ruth Harris; and two sisters, Lynn Abbott and Katherine Wilbourn. 

Lou is survived by his five children - daughters - Anna Marie (Joe) Sues; Margaret “Peggy” King of Carlsbad, NM; Joanne Louridas; sons: Michael (Laura) Harris and Theodore "Ted" Harris; eight grandchildren - Joseph, Laura, Daniel, David, Christopher, Alexandra, Renee and Michael; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Edward Catholic Church.
