Loyd M, Franklin, 74, former resident passed from this life on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at his home in Coleman, Texas.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Carlsbad Cemetery Pavilion, Carlsbad, NM with Rev. Brett Smith officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Loyd M. Franklin was born on September 15, 1939 in Brownfield, Texas to the late William Loyd and Mary Inez (Martin) Franklin. Loyd was raised in Brownfield where he attended Brownfield High School. He loved the Lord and came to know Him as his personal Savior. He had been a resident of Carlsbad, New Mexico since 1962 moving to Coleman, Texas in 2012. On December 23, 1967 Loyd married Jo Nell New and they have celebrated 46 years of marriage. Loyd was employed with Potash Mines, Inc in Carlsbad and was also a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Jo Nell Franklin of Coleman, Texas; sons: Floyd Franklin and wife, Scarlet Franklin of Mesquite, Texas, Tony Franklin and wife, Treva of Mesquite, Texas; two step-sons; Larry Cox and wife, Kathy of Carlsbad, NM, Garry Cox and wife, Deborah Cox of Coleman, Texas; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Lavonne Lewis of Lubbock, Texas and Linda Applegate of Deerpark, Texas.
