Obituary Louise Miller, 84, of Jewel Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Fox and Lake Church of Christ with Brandon Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Louise Miller was born July 20, 1933 in Erath County, Texas to Morris Alvin and Leona Pearl (Dillard) OBryant. She graduated from Stephenville High School and attended Tarelton State College in Stephenville, Texas. Louise married Sammy Miller June 1, 1952 in Stephenville. They lived in Seminole before moving to Carlsbad in 1965. Louise was a wonderful seamstress, sewing for the public and upholstering for many years. She also worked for Carlsbad Block and Supply. Louise served as a 4-H Leader for many years; teaching cooking, sewing and was a veterinarian assistant for the 4-H Standpipe Club. Louise was a long-time member of Fox and Lake Church of Christ where she served the church in many ways. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sammy Miller; grandson, Felt Mounce and son-in-law, Dwayne Mounce. Survivors are her daughters: Barbara Mounce of Carlsbad, NM, Jeanie McKean and husband, Rick of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Gabriel David Mounce and wife, Stacey of Albuquerque, NM, Joshua Dale McKean and wife, Katie of Pace, Florida, Whitney Sarah Watson and husband, Brandon of Greenville, Texas and Caleb Doyle McKean and wife, Sophia of Edmond, Oklahoma; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Sue OBryant Miller and husband, William of Ft. Collins, Colorado, JoAnn OBryant Long of Granbury, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Mounce, Joshua McKean, Caleb McKean, Israel Munoz, Jonathan Munoz and Terry McKean. Honorary pallbearers are Felt Mounce, Rudy Munoz, Ed Gassling and Henry Quintela.
