Louise L. Dodson, 89, of Pinon Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Home.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday, September 25, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Sunset Church of Christ with Mike Veilleux officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Louise L. Dodson was born October 12, 1925 in Haleyville, Alabama to Roy and Stelma (Smith) Lee. She graduated high school in Tuscumbia, Alabama. She married Wallace Dodson on July 5, 1946. Louise graduated in 1963 from NMSU with a BA and graduated in 1969 from ACU with a Master's degree. She started teaching in 1963 at Roosevelt School and after 24 years of service retired from Joe Stanley Smith School. Louise was a charter member of Sunset Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, painting, making jelly, decorating wedding cakes, sewing, traveling and spending time in the Sacramento Mountains at their cabin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; siblings: Tommie Carlson, Carl Lee and Harold Dean Lee.
Survivors are sons: Larry Dodson and wife, Terri, Tommy Dodson and wife, Janet, Phillip Dodson; grandchildren: Jennifer Dodson, Michael Dodson and wife, Debra, Leah Cannon and husband, Scott, Kevin Dodson and wife, Christy, Keith Dodson and partner, Michael, Leslie Frintz, Kellie White, Elizabeth Gibson, Dennie Gibson, Jessica Gibson and Katie Gibson; great-grandchildren: Zach, Colby, Storm, Sage, Christopher, Riley, Kaden, Kolt and 14 additional great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Dodson, Kevin Dodson, Keith Dodson, Donnie Gibson, David Dodson and Dennis White. Honorary pallbearers are AW "Dub" Williams, Lee Richards, Walter Carlson and G.C. Thompson.
