Louise Davis, 83, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Landsun Homes. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 18, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Coonradt officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Louise Davis was born September 27, 1928 in Quay County, NM to George Lafayette and Nellie B. (Ditto) Reno, Sr. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1945. Louise married Raymond n. Davis on November 27, 1946. They moved to Carlsbad in 1949. Louise worked at the hospital for 19 years. She also worked two years for the Alcohol Recovery Center, three years as the food manager at the Nazarene Church camp at Augus, NM and five years as a bookkeeper for the Alto RV Park. Louise's hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, knitting, tatting, cooking, collecting knick-knacks, and playing the piano. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Letter Carrier Wives, Letter Carrier Auxiliary, Sweet Adeline's, Red Cross and DAVA Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Davis; grandson, Michael Davis; brothers: William O. Reno and George Reno, Jr. Survivors are six sons: Theodore "Ted" Davis and wife, Judy of Charlotte, NC, Richard "Ricky" Davis and wife, Sharon of Allen, TX, David "Dave" Eldon Davis and wife, Liz of Los Banos, CA, Gregory "Greg" Neil Davis and wife, Barbara of Carlsbad, NM, Philip "Phil" Davis and wife, Sherri of Carlsbad, NM, Clayton "Clay" Davis and wife, Pamela of Tyrone, PA; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Emery A. Reno of San Jose, CA; sister, Ellena M. Avara of Los Banos, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will are Ted Davis, Ricky Davis, Dave Davis, Greg Davis, Phil Davis and Clay Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Stacey Lawing, Sean Davis, Jed Davis, David Davis, Sherry Vanzandt, Emery Reno, Amber Davis and John Tomko. Memorial contributions maybe made to First Church of the Nazarene, NWMS, 1010 West Fox Street, Carlsbad, NM 88220. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
