Louis Q. Garcia, 66, of Picacho Rd., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home.
Visitation will be 2:00 - 5:00 PM, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 2016, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Louis Q. Garcia was born November 19, 1949 in Carlsbad, NM to Luis C. and Juana (Quintela) Garcia. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1968 and joined the US Marine Corp where he served over two years during Vietnam. Louis attended ENMU several years and later received an associate's degree from NMSU-Carlsbad. He married Belia Lopez May 24, 1975 here in Carlsbad. Louis went to work for the fire department and retired after 20 years, retiring as Captain. He also volunteered with the Otis Fire Department where he served as Chief for several years. Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing, his coffee buddies and was always eager to help others. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ermelinda Garcia and brother, Rogelio Garcia.
Survivors are his wife, Belia Lopez; daughters: Marina Garcia Quarles and husband, Kevin and Norena Garcia of Carlsbad, NM; 8 grandchildren: Nicholas Salcido, Devin Salcido, Isaiah Herrera, Kevin Quarles, Jr., Reymundo Juarez, Jesus Montoya, Gabriel Montoya and Mya Montoya; siblings: Felipe Garcia of Carlsbad NM, Lorina Garcia Cruz-Solano and husband, John of Temple, Texas, Ben Garcia and wife, Gloria of Carlsbad, NM; Teresa Garcia of Carlsbad, NM, Randy Garcia and wife, Sarah of Omaha, NE, Mitchele Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sharky Morgan, Nick Salcido, Ben Garcia, Louie Garcia, Mike Rodriguez, Tom Lopez, Gilberto L. Montoya and Auerlio Rivas. Honorary pallbearers will be Reymundo Juarez, Devin Salcido, Jesus Montoya, Isaiah Herrera, Gabriel Montoya and Kevin Quarles, Jr.
