Loretta Kay Briones Granger was born December 21, 1949 in Carlsbad, NM to Manuel A. and JoAnn (Starnes) Briones. She lived in Carlsbad her entire life. Loretta celebrated 50 years married to Richard L. Granger in October 2016. In 1983, they opened up their business, Carlsbad Quality Auto Body Shop, which is still operating. Loretta carried on her mother's tradition and operated JoAnn's Fireworks. For 17 years, she worked for Eddy County Public Works where she was an executive secretary. Loretta was a "gem". Everyone knew her beautiful smile, huge dimples, high heels, red lipstick. Loretta was always dressed to a tee. When she walked into the room you could feel her vibrant energy. No matter where she was, Loretta wanted to take a picture of video. She always made sure everyone was feeling well and if they had issues she would research information to give them advice on what to do to get better. To all that knew Loretta know that she loved her family unconditionally and supported all of their accomplishments. Her greatest love and enjoyment was being able to spend time with her family everyday. One of Loretta's favorite things to do was travel with her husband to watch her grandson, Delmonico and granddaughter, Kaliyah play ball. She would always say, "I wouldn't miss a game for the world," and she didn't. Loretta was their #1 fan and she loved each and every one of the teammates just like one of her own. Her favorite downtime was sitting with family, watching movies and spending quality time with all of them. We all know Loretta's favorite hobby was taking pictures. She was preceded in death by her parents. Loretta will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten because of her everlasting impression she left on everyone. Survivors are her husband, Richard L.
