Lorena Rodriguez

Lorena Rodriguez, 65, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on February 14, 2025 in El Paso, TX. Cremation has taken place and a vigil will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving NM with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Interment will follow at Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

Lorena was born on January 19, 1960 to Santiago (Jimmy) and Elisa (Licha) Rodriguez in Carlsbad, NM. Lorena was a loving mother to her son, Joseph A. Fuentes, Sr. and grandmother to her 4 grandchildren Mauricio, Anthony, Emily, and Jovonny, who she adored. She enjoyed going and watching her grandchildren, nieces and nephews at any sporting event they participated in. Lorena’s grandchildren were her world and she loved them tremendously. Lorena was very hard-working. She was well known for her famous cooking. She always took her time and made sure her food was made with love. Lorena loved spending time with her family and friends. And for those that knew her, and were around in her presence knew she was the life of the party. She also loved to dance and sing. Lorena always loved to make everyone laugh. She loved her all her plants – she definitely had a green thumb. Lorena would like to take pieces of other plants and take them home and grow those small pieces into big, beautiful plants. Her happy place to be was at the casino with her family and friends. Her beauty will always be in the hearts of all who knew her. Lorena will be missed and loved by all. 

Lorena was preceded in death by her parents. 

Survivors are her one and only son, Joseph Fuentes, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; 4 grandchildren; sister, Loretta Chavez and husband, Israel; brother, Jaime Rodriguez; sister, Lena Duran and husband, Perfecto; brother Jackie Rodriguez and wife, Doris; brother, Joey Rodriguez; brother, Javier Rodriguez and wife, Gina; brother, Mikie Martinez and wife, Monica and numerous nieces and nephews.
