Lola Christine Bennett

Lola Christine Bennett, 88, of East Church Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 8, 2010 at her home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 11:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wilson Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lola Christine Bennett was born on February 22, 1921 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Charles and Lena (Henderson) Spurgeon. She was a waitress for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and traveling. Lola was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Larry DeWayne Leach and Charles Ramon Leach. Survivors include daughter: Ramona Osgood and husband, James of Marshalltown, Iowa; son: Gene T. Bradley and wife, Marsha of Carlsbad, NM; loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren: Trevor Bradley Walker, Paige Bradley, Michelle Gilmore, Jeff Osgood, Jaime Winkowitsch, Eric Osgood, Jason Bradley, Matthew Bradley and Amanda Bradley Lujan. She was also blessed with 20 great-grandchildren and brother: Lowell Spurgeon of Iowa. Pallbearers will be Avery Williams, Alvy Williams, Randy Richardson, Jason Bradley, Steve Bare and Matthew Bradley. Should friends desire Memorials might be made to First Christian Church, 1002 W.
