Linda Jean Rosenberg was born in Carlsbad, NM on June 29, 1946 to Nadine (Miller) and Mike Rosenberg. The second of three children Linda lived her entire life in New Mexico. Very fond of Carlsbad, Linda lived here off and on over the years. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1964. She attended the University of New Mexico until August 1968 when she married James Harrison of Las Cruces New Mexico. Her only child, Jason Harrison, was born in August of 1969 and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1988. Linda loved her family, art and her pets. Never knowing a stranger she was always easy to talk to. Empathetic and kind are the two characteristics that would always come first to mind when describing Linda. She had two different businesses in Carlsbad where she made her home but eventually moved back to Albuquerque with her husband of 20 years until they divorced in 2004. Linda suffered from Alzheimer's disease. A horrific disease that robs a person of their one most identifiable and important resource; their mind. This disease is more costly and more poorly understood then all forms of cancer. It has taken many lives and profoundly affects the family members of those who are left to care for their loved ones. Her son and his wife, Nancy Harrison cared for Linda in Albuquerque and eventually in Texas where they both live and work since Linda's divorce in 2004. She passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2014 in Mansfield Texas with her son at her bedside. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Grace Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Linda is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jason and Nancy Harrison who live and work in the Dallas Fort Worth, Texas area; brother, Michael Rosenberg and wife, Nancy of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Maryann Weems and husband, Regan of Albuquerque, NM. Linda was loved very deeply by other friends and family including her nieces and nephew, Whitney, Amy, Elizabeth and Brian all who live in Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org would be greatly appreciated. A tax deductible donation can be given as a tribute/memorial to Linda at this site and hopefully will help fund the research so we may be better able to understand and treat this crippling and deadly disease.
