Linda Kay Bradley was born in Midland, Texas on March 25, 1942 to Dick and JoNeva Bradley. The family later moved to Carlsbad where Linda graduated from CHS in 1960 and went on to attend classes at NMSU-C. Family was very important to Linda. She worked for the family business, New Mexico Packing Co. as a girl, and then later worked along side her father again in the family insurance business. She retired from Bradley Insurance Agency after 20 years of service. Having a true devotion to her faith, Linda was an active member of several Southern Baptist churches over her lifetime, the last being Blodgett St. Baptist. Linda spent her free time reading, traveling in her RV, collecting antiques, going to garage sales and gardening. She loved to write and practiced the old-fashioned art of writing letters to friends from out-of-town. Linda had a special place in her heart for dachshunds, owning several over the years, and always seemed to have one curled up in her lap. She loved her family, animals, church and community. Linda will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her daughter, Lauricia Smith and husband, James of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Bianca Riley and Beau Smith; 3 great-granddaughters: Olivia, Cambria and Mykailah; sister, Jan Paskey and husband, W.D. of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Richard N. Bradley, II and wife, Cheryl of Carlsbad, NM, and Larry B. Bradley of Carlsbad, NM; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steven Garcia, Richard N. Bradley, II, Larry B. Bradley, Kevin Manire, Kerry Manire and James Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to Blodgett Street Baptist Church, 1500 W. Blodgett St., Carlsbad, NM 88220.
