Lillian Lamb, 83, of Primrose, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away July 24, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Prell officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lillian Lamb was born June 14, 1927 in Ft. Stockton, TX. She attended Elementary School in Ft. Stockton and then moved with her family to El Paso as a young girl. Lillian married Elvis Lamb on September 27, 1943 in Las Cruces. They later moved to Pecos, TX where they were members of Calvary Baptist Church for 40 years. Elvis and Lillian relocated to Carlsbad in 1992. She was a faithful member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church. Lillian enjoyed cooking and traveling, but most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvis Lee Lamb, Sr.; three brothers and three sisters. Lillian's family would like to thank the hospital, especially ICU, for the wonderful care they gave their mother. Survivors are her six children: Lynda Lee Arrufat of El Paso, TX, Elvis Lee Lamb of Austin, TX, Johnny Frank Lamb and wife, Trish of Carlsbad, NM, Larry Joe Lamb of Carlsbad, NM, Melba Heath and husband, Gary of Carlsbad, NM, James Lamb and wife, Sandy of Pecos, TX; 14 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren and sister, Lena Gelstahorpe of El Paso, TX. Pallbearers will be John Heath, Jon Lamb, Kevin Heath, Stephen Lamb, James Lamb and Trey Willis. Honoary pallbearers are Gary Heath and Delbert Freeman. Memorial contributions may be made to Blodgett Street, Baptist Church, 1500 West Blodgett Street, Carlsbad, NM 88220. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
